The latest update has my firefox opening 2 tabs every time I double click to open ONE tab. The two tabs open my set homepage which is a local page on my computer.

file:///C:/Internet%20Tools/webpages/startpage/index.htm

There are no other special characters and nothing has changed EXCEPT the latest update. Any ideas?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Ok that got me in the right direction. The addon Classic Theme Restorer was causing the extra tab.

I unchcecked the 'Double click opens new tab' box.

This is why I installed this was to get BACK the double click option that Firefox removed.

My guess is that Firefox in its' wisdom has put back the double click option so I was getting 2 double clicks.

Anyway, problem solved. Thanks cor-el

Are you opening a link, homepage, or new tab?

I'm just double clicking to open a new tab. Both tabs open to my local homepage as specified above and this only started with the last update I did a day or so ago.

Try a single click only. Check your settings for opening a new tab.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
