How do I stop an "add to wishlist" bookmark from being added to the Bookmakrs menu item?
Each time I open a webpage in my Bookmarks menu I get "Add to bookmarks (nnn)" with the 'nnn' being a sequential number. I now have over 500 of these entries and need to delete them and then not have them created again.

Okay I tried all the sites that were listed plus a few of my own and none fixed the problem. I was in a position to rebuild the entire system from the OS on up and just completed all the tasks associated with that rebuild. So far no sign of the problem. Once again thanks for the help.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?
Once the problem is solved, open the Bookmarks Manager. <Alt><Cntr> B There is a search box at the top of the page. Enter a string that wil display the "bad" bookmarks. Click on one of then, press <Ctrl> A to highlight all of them, then press Delete.
Starting Firefox in Safe Mode or a regular does not solve the problem. I have attached an image of my screen showing the problem.
Please describe in detail what happens. When is the bookmark created?
It does it every time I open a web page in a new browser window. Currently I have 999 of these items listed. When I click on one it opens a new browser window with a blank page (that's my default) and adds one more new "Add to wishlist (sequential number). If I click on the + sign to the right of a windows already open it opens a browser window with a blank page and adds another entry in my Bookmarks.
Are you using Sync to sync the bookmarks? If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync while performing maintenance/repair efforts to files in the Firefox profile folder.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

I had come to that same conclusion and will post the results once all checks are done. Thank for your help and work.
