Firefox will not Sync no matter what I try. How do I get my bookmarks back.
Firefox will not restore my synced bookmarks, settings or passwords after reinstalling my system.

Did you have any problems after re-installation when trying to set up Sync? Did you request a new password for Sync?
Yes! For the better part of an hour I could not log nor would it accept the correct password and every other password I tried thinking I forgot my password. Requested Password Reset and revived no reply until this afternoon. However! I was already logged into my account but did not see or receive my bookmarks, passwords or settings. This is when I started searching for solutions/fixes here. Fallowed the instruction to upgrade Sync to no avail..
Why would you need to "upgrade Sync"? That was only needed when upgrading from Firefox 28 to Firefox 29 or newer. That was something which was needed a year ago; unless you kept using Firefox 28 or older and didn't stay current.
Also, when you request a new password for your Sync account, all your data is wiped from the Sync server immediately regardless of when you received the email notification.
Overall, Sync is intended to be used to "synchronize" Firefox data among multiple devices, not to provide a "cloud" to store data when reinstalling Firefox on a single device.
Well it's nice to know that now. Had I been informed of that was what was going to happen, I would have considered other options. However! That does not explain why the sync did not work once I was logged in (which I was) It was only in the attempt of restoring my bookmarks that glitches caused Firefox to ignore my log in and demand that my password was not valid. Then is when I tried to reset my password.
By the way! I really don't care for your tone. Acting like I was some kind of expert that should have known better then to rest my password or depend on it to save my password and bookmarks... The passwords I can forgive.. The loss of my bookmarks is of greater importance. And FYI No place is any of what you said mentioned as to its intended use. Though if you have to know, I do use it that way. I just got a new phone and wanted to update it as well after I got this other system restored.. So please don't try and make me sound like I'm a fool because I did not know... Experts Suck!

So is that it? Am I suppose to just drop this after the expert outright implied that I was stupid? I came for answers to why I'm in this fix. Quit looking at my password reset. My browser was logged in, my bookmarks were not installed as I have done in the past and trying to upgrade my Sync was what Mozilla's FAQ was what prompted me to try. I only tried that thinking what I was correctly being directed by FAQ that upgrading was the correct solution. Now I'm subjected to what borders on insult and contempt for not knowing when my system would crash forcing the need to reinstall everything. The fault lies somewhere else. I've done what I can and find that I still want answers or options that are not veiled in insults or accusations. While I am not an expert, I am more then able to understand instructions when given the correct information. What Now? Is there any hope for my bookmarks?
BTW! I believe that I am owed an apology from this so called expert (above) who's outright contemptible attitude needs to stop and remember that we are not all experts and treating others like fools is not OK.

I was composing a pleasant reply to try to provide an answer when I noticed your most recent "edit" ...
What does that mean? Now you don't want to do anything. Are your feeling hurt? Well! That's quite all right.. I intend to report you and there is also the record of your rude responses to me implying I've done everything wrong.. If you ask me, you have not read my posting and have spent way too much time accusing me rather than sticking to the point by answering my questions as presented without implying that I was doing it all wrong.. Well! your wrong. I'm not here to play games with egos. Either help me solve this issue or stay the heck out of this all together. I'm sure there are many others more then qualified to address this with some decorum and professional demeanor..
Well? Nothing to say Mr the-edminister? I'm really not sure that you care one bit about who or what I am. But I like anyone else, I deserve respect. When I'm respected (and not all but declared to be too dumb to be asking the likes of you such trivial questions) I will return the same. Till then expect that I will respond as I have. You have not respected me, so I'm not too inclined to respond to you respectfully. I at this point have nothing but contempt for the like of you. So either act professionally, or get off this support forum. There are many others who can do what you are trying to do. But they will at least try and get answers and solutions respectfully. You have a lot to learn about how you write others. I'm too old to put up with your disrespectful demeanor.

MsTsue, this is getting a bit out of hand. nowhere in this thread you were remotely treated rudely or with disrespect as you are implying - it was just explained on a factual basis that by resetting the account password (from which the encryption key for the data is generated) all your existing sync data is wiped & past recovery. you get notified about that in the steps prior to resetting the password as well: https://accounts.firefox.com/reset_password
that is unfortunate in your situation. but since there is no way around and nothing can be done about that, i'm going to close this question. thank you for your understanding!
