Want to follow this advice but there is NO "options" choice on the top bar, nor in any of the drop-downs. Nor in the right side heiroglyphic of 3 parallel horizontal lines.

Is this OPTIONS menu only found in Safe Mode? Need to know so I can plan what I want to do before poking around.

>>> While you are in safe mode;

Firefox Options > Advanced > General.

Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration. Then restart.

Finally found it. thanks all. Really annoying that the right hand heiroglyph SOMETIMES leads to exactly the same menus as the top menu bar. But SOMETIMES they are a little different...

You probably unintentionally removed it somehow. You can use the following steps to restore 29 back to the way it was when you installed it.

  • Go to about:customizing in the Address Bar
  • Click Restore Defaults

Does that help?

On Mac it is likely labeled as Preferences in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button list like it does on Linux.

You should also still have the Menu bar visible with Firefox > Preferences

Did you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode?

You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:

  • On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
  • On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
