remove gophoto.it
Hi, I have recently noticed I have an unwanted addon called gophoto.it.
I have tried to remove the addon but am so far having no luck.
When on the addons page in firefox there is no option to remove, just to disable. I have tried restarting in safemode to remove it but am still unable to.
I tried to remove it manually, I searched about:config and have come up with one result, I have tried to find this in the directory under extensions and the corresponding file doesnt show up.
The preference name for the file is: extensions.a2ea36bf108774aaa882cff78f7d9d95cdfb1672d116a4eb48be044786bd1d3ddcom34068.34068.internaldb.Resources_resource_175513.value
If anyone has any ideas I would be really greatful! Thanks.

This has been bugging me for a while as well, and I finally cracked it! The GoPhoto.it extension is in your home directory, under Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions. The folder called "{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}" is the one you need to delete.
Your Library folder is hidden by default on newer versions of Mac OS, the easiest way to get there is to open the terminal and type "open ~/Library"

Please see the Disable or remove Add-ons.
For this addon, you have to uninstall from the control panel, that is why there is no remove button inside of Firefox.
If your homepage etc has been hijacked see the below articles/links beside the bullets.
Sorry should have mentioned I am using a Mac.
But homepages is fine, no toolbars as such, just an image enlarger when rolling over images.
Have disabled it but am looking to completely remove it.
Thanks.

Thanks Junkshow! This seems to have done the trick!
Actually, the {ec803... folder's name is Firefox's application ID and that is where any extension is expected to go. (See MDN > Mozilla > Add ons > Installing Extensions over at developer.mozilla.org). You will lose any other extensions that are in there if you delete the folder. I would hope it will be automatically regenerated the next time an extension needs to go there.
I'd like to know if the GoPhoto extension was able to self install or whether it needed to trick the user into the install.
