I need to keep the Firefox version 3.6.6 due to compatibility issues with other programs running on my servers. I've successfully installed this version but whenever I open Firefox I get this message: 'Your browser is out of date Upgrade today for the latest in speed/security.' I click on the No Thanks icon, however, I get this message every time I open Firefox. I have my settings set to NO auto update. How can I get this window to not display?

Hello pbrown, try to change your homepage to something different, like http://www.google.com/ or anything else, go from : Tools > Options > General > Home page (probably you have the Mozilla Firefox Start Page in there).

thank you

What is it that is blocking you from using modern versions of Firefox?

Standardization for support issues for Tomax applications on our servers. Also a compatibility issue with the Java 6 u 31 we need to support those applications.

You can install a portable (ESR) Firefox version to access websites that do not work with the current Firefox release.

The portable version comes with its own profile folder and doesn't interfere with the currently installed release version.

Issue was resolved by making Google.com my homepage in Mozilla

I can answer that... the newer versions SUCK. Each subsequent release takes more (easily accessed through the UI) control and options away from the user. I'm seriously considering downgrading to v. 9 or earlier (even the 3.x referenced here was a GREAT release).

Didn't work for me; Google has always been my homepage, but I get the nagging dun to upgrade, not only every time I reopen the browser, but in periodic random popups. I just want it to leave me alone. How can I turn it off?
