I am in the UK but Firefox re-directs existing UK bookmarks to the US site and will not let me visit the UK site. No problem with Chrome or IE?

Specifically I read TechRadar @ http://techradar.com but Firefox continually re-directs me to http://techradar.com/us and whatever I do it will not allow me to visit the UK site. I am in the UK and a registered user of Techradar.com, this is a UK site but I have to use Chrome or IE to get to it.

I can't tell how the site is geo-locating me. It seems to occur on the server -- even with JavaScript disabled, the page is loaded with en-us in the body tag, which the scripts (when enabled) use to reload on the /us page. Have you mentioned this to the site?
