hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

You can disable the "Share Location" permission for all sites on the about:permissions page and change it to Block.

You can also check the connection settings.

See "Firefox connection settings":

Thanks maddawg(person) for the reply. I'll try replicate this in safe mode as you suggested but it could be an add-on as you mentioned...

Thanks guys for your replies... However I found a resolution as I'll post it here for anyone's future use:

How do I turn off Location-Aware Browsing permanently?

Location-Aware Browsing is always opt-in in Firefox. No location information is ever sent without your permission. If you wish to disable the feature completely, please follow this set of steps:

In the URL bar, type about:config
   Type geo.enabled
Double click on the geo.enabled preference
   Location-Aware Browsing is now disabled

You do not need to do this via the about:config page.

As I wrote above on the about:permissions page you can set the "Share Location" permission for all sites to "Block" to achieve the same effect (this sets the geo.enabled pref accordingly).

Thanks cor-el for your wonderful input but already disabled that function via the about:config page. However with your link I know I can go back in & reset the permission if I need to. Thanks- your tops!
