Delete key does not work when trying todelete items. Have to highlight text and hit space bar or use back space to delete items. How do I fixz this? It used to work and I have made no changes.
If I have type something or pasted something anywhere when using the program the delete key has no effect. Even if the text or item is highlighted it does nothing. I just misspelled 'highlighted' and tried to delete the additional letter using the delete key and nothing happened. I highlighted the letter and hit delete and nothing happened. How do I fix this?

Please check if this happens in other applications like Notepad. If the issue is unique to Firefox, please temporarily check Firefox in Safe Mode.
Troubleshooting Extensions and Themes
Safe mode disables the installed Extensions, and themes (Appearance) in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Use hardware acceleration when available. Options > Advanced. All these settings/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme or hardware acceleration is causing issues.
Delete key does not work in Wordpad. I do not have notepad, or I can find it in a search
If the delete key isn't generally working it could be a keyboard issue. You can try to check the functionality of the key in other programs after exiting Firefox. To open Notepad for eg., please also try typing notepad in the start search box and enter to open notepad.
