When I minimize the current window, Firefox is closing.
Since updating to Firefox 10.0, a couple of things are happening 1. when I minimize the window (to work on documents on my hard drive) most times I am getting booted off the net. 2. when I connect to net, websites that I had logged out of and closed hours before are automatically opening with me still logged-in

Please check if this happens in Safe Mode

You can try setting the Firefox option to either Never remember history or Use custom settings for history with Always use Private Browsing mode in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Privacy. Even otherwise, if Settings is active, you have to make sure that Cookies and Active Logins are not selected. Options > Privacy
