Problem With Menu Display in Firefox 9.0
After I updated to Firefox 9.0.1, a Web site that I frequently visit (Elanthipedia) is no longer displayed properly. The left-hand menu, which normally appears in the top-left corner of the screen, is pushed down to the bottom left.
The site displays correctly in Internet Explorer, so my guess is that this has something to do with the way Firefox handles style sheets.
Note: I am viewing the page in the "Basic Page Style," and I am allowing scripts for that site.

Looks like the same problem as discussed in this MozillaZine thread probably caused by JavaScript running on that page because it works OK with JavaScript disabled.
This is caused by browser sniffing that has been broken in Firefox 9. The property navigator.taintEnabled is no longer supported so the wrong css file gets loaded which sets the margin-left of the div column-content to zero. As a result there is less room for the navigation div which is pushed down.
It's also broken in Seamonkey 2.6.1
I am a maintainer of that sites code (been away from DragonRealms and Elanthipedia for a long while though). I'll touch base with the current "owner" and leader of the wiki and arrange a time/date to fix it.
Thanks for reaching out though!
I have this type of a problem (left menu appears at the bottom left) on the sites used old versions of wiki pages. (Mac OS X 10.5.8)
There are thousands of wikis on the internet whose owners are not aware that their older wiki sites will not load properly with Firefox 9.0.1 -- because those sites load great with current versions of Chrome, Safari, and so forth. Asking FF users to update their own mediawiki versions, which has been posed as a "solution" to the FF 9.0.1 problem here, makes no sense. FF 9.0.1 is out of step with reality; FF's continued neglect of this issue just forces users to abandon the defective FF 9.0.1 browser, because they sure can't update mediawiki sites that they don't own or maintain.
I am having this issue not with wikis but with mainstream sites such as my banking sites and PayPal, etc. On some sites the navigation is showing text links; on others the navigation is incomplete or graphics don't display. My bank's site says my browser is out of date and I need to update, but I am running FF 9.0.1. Navigation works fine in Chrome and IE. Any suggestions? Thanks!
