Update downloaded but I do NOT want to install

more options

Even though I did not mean to download the Firefox 8 update apparently I did. I don't want to install this update until it is compatible with Norton toolbar (a process that usually takes a couple of weeks based on previous updates). I get the message that the next time Firefox is started it will be updated. Is there anyway to prevent this? I need to reboot my computer periodically and obviously this will mean Firefox 8 will be installed which will in turn mean I will be unable to use Norton identity safe. Is there a way to not have this happen when Firefox is restarted?

Thanks for any help.

Norton has had updates available for their Firefox add-ons the same day a new version of Firefox was released since Firefox 5.0 came out.
