This problem only started happening just today, before and after I downloaded Firefox 4 (I had 3.616).

When I try accessing the internet here at the college, it will automatically redirect Firefox to a web security page set-up by the college (titled "Web Authentication Request") that requires a personal school ID and password to allow access, and now, since I can't access the net through Firefox alone, I'm having to use Safari to log myself in before using it.

Everytime it gets redirected, is crashes only maybe half a second after "Web Authentication Request" appears, and never finishes loading the page before it crashes.

I dunno what is going on, but it never happened until yesterday, and since it's a redirect, I can't exactly provide much for you

I have a similar problem with my school's wireless authentication system. The crash also occurs on Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows systems with Firefox 4.0 - so this is not a MacOS-specific crash.

On Ubuntu, I get the same crash with 3.6.16 that I do with 4.0, but I cannot get the same crash on 3.6.15 or earlier.

I was able to send in a crash report (I think) by allowing Firefox to crash to the crash report dialog, authenticating with another browser, and then allowing Firefox to continue to submit its report after being authenticated.
