Firefox is not loading captchas, blocking me from using websites that need this kind of authentication.

I'm currently running Firefox in safe mode. I've tried the suggestions on http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load. My plugins are up-to-date, except that Firefox thinks Java is out of date, and Apple does not.

I've had this problem on http://www.mapyourvalentine.com/create/ and while registering for Firefox Sync.

Are you blocking 3rd party coolies?

Cookies accepted, kept until they expire.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I've already tried that, and starting in safe mode does not seem to help!

Any other ideas?

Hi, I find the Adblockplus to be the biggest offender here, if you're using ABP then it's most likely the offender. Follow these instructions:

-Go to a site where captchas aren't loading. -Click on the Firefox button top left of screen -Click 'Add ons' -Click 'Extensions' tab -Find your ABP extension -Click 'Options' in ABP window -Click 'Filter Preferences' -Click 'Custom Filters' -Then click on 'Ad blocking rules'

The rule thats blocking captcha is 'google.com^' just uncheck it and then reload a webpage where you would see a captcha
