What exactly is the error? I am guessing that it complains about legitimacy of the certificate. If that is the case click the view button and have a look at who the certificate is for and who issues it. It is fairly common for it to say avast or some other anti virus product and you ave to create or allow an exception for their non trusted certificates so they can hack err scan your email.
