How can I stop a pop-up that says, "Enter your search term". It is more of a nuisance than a help.

Please tell me how to make these pop-ups, described above, disappear from my screen. Most of my searches involve going from webpages to private files on my computer, and these pop-ups obscure text in these webpages. If I don't want to keep it doing that, I have to move my whole window down, which also causes me not to see important text.

Can you attach a screenshot of this pop-up?

It's rather unpredictable, and I need someone who knows how to manage screen shots to take a shot while it is up there. Since he isn't always around the house, it may be some time before it all comes together.

It's a little rectangular pop up, only about half the area of the "Find help..." icon I'm seeing at the top right on this webpage right now. Does that help?
