Master Password Prompt Delay
Please can someone tell me why is there such a long delay between opening firefox and the master password prompt?
Also if anyone knows if there is some way to either speed up the master password prompt so that it opens instantly on opening firefox or prevent it from opening until a password box is present on the webpage.
The delay in the master password prompt is up to 20 seconds and is so annoying, it just gets in the way when you are trying to work.
Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be provided.

The credentials to connect to the Firefox Sync account are stored in the Password Manager.
Are you possibly using Sync as that could be a reason to ask for the PP at startup ?
You can open Lockwise (about:logins; possibly as a pinned tab or bookmark) to make Firefox ask for the PP if you do not want to wait.

Great answer, would have never thought of doing that. Problem solved right away, as soon as I open FF with lockwise pinned it immediately asks for the Master Password.
Thank you so much, this has been bugging me for way too long.
Have a great day!
A simple workaround that forces the Firefox Primary Password to be immediately required on startup is to make your home page (in Options > Home > New Windows and Tabs) use a login page for a site for which you have a password saved in Firefox. The option to "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" (Options > Privacy & Security > Logins and Passwords) must be on.
The page doesn't even have to be at a site for which you have an account. It can be a dummy login page. All that is required is for Firefox to think you have a password for that page.
This is only useful for getting the primary password entry immediately done and over with. This is not useful for locking Firefox down from someone seeing what bookmarks you have, browsing to pages for which you don't have saved passwords, or seeing what your home page is. To do any of those things, the user merely has to choose "Cancel" at the "Please enter your master password" prompt.
Hey, Mozilla, shouldn't that be "Please enter your primary password"?
