I was a long time Eudora user that converted to Thunderbird. I have TB set to leave mail on server so that another PC can get the messages also. That seems to be working fine. In Eudora I had a garbage can that I could click for individual messages to delete them from the server. Stuff that didn't need to be on the second PC like simple thank you messages. Is there a similar feature in TB to remove individual messages. I can't find it.

It appears you have a POP setup, which means the communication between TB and the mail server is only to fetch messages from the server. To delete mail, you have to do it from the webmail access. You might consider setting up the account as IMAP on both computers (and other devices such as phones) to synchronize actions across all devices.

So that means TB can't do it. OK. I will deal with it another way.

You could use the Until I delete it only on message retention. But in all seriousness, having one on IMAP or even both is probably a better way.

You can still fetch mail using POP to build a locally stored archive, even on the same profile (I have the same gmail account setup as IMAP with the maildir storage) and POP sure it is only for texting in my case, but it works. Lots of things that were available for managing multiple users of a POP account are inherently built into IMAP. But a Local archive in not one of them

For now I am going to keep running both Eudora and Thinderbird. Eudora still has some features not available in TB that like. Among them nesting addresses and delete individual messages.
