When I use StubHub to sell seat tickets and/or parking tickets, I am unable to complete the listing. Clicking the appropriate button results in no action (nothing happens; stays on same page).

I am able to do the transactions using MS Edge.

When I complained to StubHub they basically gave me the finger. "We don't support Firefox; go use another browser."

I don't expect any sort of definitive answer from this forum based on what I have written. What I would really like to be able to do is submit a bug report, but I can't find a way to do that on the FF web site.

Hi dgomberg, there are at least four kinds of website bugs:

(1) Bugs caused by the website not using Firefox-compatible code -- these are often called evangelism bugs because someone needs to convince the site to make its code compatible

(2) Bugs caused by Firefox not following web standards or the "de facto" standards set by bigger players -- these may lead to code changes in Firefox

(3) Bugs caused by Firefox behaving differently due to non-default settings -- these may or may not lead to code changes in Firefox

(4) Bugs caused by Firefox behaving differently due to add-ons -- these usually do not lead to code changes in Firefox

(Site problems also can be caused by cached files and bad cookies...)

To get a better picture of where the problem might be, and understanding that you can't test an infinite number of times because you only have so many items to sell:

Could you try:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test your problem site(s).

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like June2019, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system so we can get a clean test.

Do the problem site(s) work any better in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (June2019 will remain available for future testing.)

You can check the Web Console for possible error messages.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case Content Blocking is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more details and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console about what content is blocked

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions. I'm going to be away for the weekend, so I will try these next week.
