Why aren't bookmarks names automatically updated anymore?

I remember a nice Firefox behavior a few (or many) years ago: each time I visited a bookmarked page and its name (title) had changed, the corresponding bookmark's name was updated accordingly. Now I realize it doesn't do that anymore. How come? How to enable that again?

I have a Firefox account with Sync on, just in case it's in any way relevant.

Hi pHneutre,

Why this doesn't happen automatically - I honestly don't know, and I haven't been able to find any information on the subject ....... (sorry  !).

What I did find is this add-on - maybe you would like to give it a try  ?

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/replace-bookmark/

Any good  ?

Hi Happy112, thanks for your answer. This addon is not very useful to me. Do you observe the same lack of update as me or is it a bug on my side? to try that you'll have to find an old bookmark whose page title has changed, not easily reproducible (except for me, I have a ton of old bookmarks).

Sorry that add-on isn't useful to you ..... (bummer  !)

I don't use all that many bookmarks, and the ones I do use don't need to be updated.

I hope that somebody else will come to your rescue  !
