How do I put the tabs on the side rather than along the top?

I seem to be stuck with the tabs running along the top but preference is to have them down the side of the screen.

Try Tab Center in Test Pilot.

Many many thanks - a relatively trivial but highly frustrating problem for me and the resolution so simple.
