I do not want firefox to save my user name. How do I turn off the autocomplete for user names?
I use Firefox on my work computer, and I do not want the program to remember user names, and auto-fill when logging onto secure websites. There are currently no Saved Logins listed in the security tab of settings, but every time I log onto my benefits or payroll websites, my user name pops up as suggested log in data. How do I disable this function?

Hi jk4js, please see the following link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/control-whether-firefox-automatically-fills-forms
You will need to disable the form auto form fill feature.
Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.
At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button.
I would really prefer to disable form history, without shutting off ALL suggestions based on search history, or completely wiping the history clean each time I log off. Is there really no way to get firefox to stop suggesting personal information, like user names without blocking other useful, not-so-personal information?
How about opening the sites in a new private browsing window? Once the window is closed, the history for that session will be deleted. Please see the following link for more info: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history
