I use an LG Optimus F6. It can run Youtube videos in the app and in Chrome without any jitter but when I play them in Firefox (or Aurora) the video stream breaks every 5 seconds or so. The audio stream is continuous though.

Any plans to improve video decoding performance on Firefox? The dual core CPU may be an issue but it does not seem to be an issue for Youtube app or Chrome...

Hello dood:

Some more questions to help us help you:

  1. What version of Android are you using? And what version of Firefox ? (Firefox for Android 37.0.1 is the latest)
  2. Are non-HTML 5 videos working fine? Could you please give us 2 examples of non-HTML5 videos that work and HTML5 videos that don't work?

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply.

1. 4.1.2 - LG has no newer version for my model in the US. Firefox 37.0; I also tried Firefox Beta and Aurora but they did not make any difference. Chrome works great. 2. I don't know how to play a non-HTML5 video on my phone (should I install Flash?). Any Youtube video breaks in Firefox. For repro, here are specific ones I have played on my device -

Does playing a video in the Youtube app count? In that case, I can watch the same videos above in the Youtube app without jitter.
