I want to use PAYPAL to pay for items brought on line but even though added Paypal as 'allowable' website - Firefox still will not access? Just comes up with an error window saying the website is not accessible at present. I have tried adding PAYPAL as an acceptable site for security, for cookies, general use - everything I can think off to allow. Firefox will still not access the site - and this is not acceptable.
I deliberately started using firefox to allow me to get away from Explorer and it's issues, but Firefox is not workable in allowing me to securely pay for my internet purchases, making me go through unknown third party banking systems to accept my credit card payment and this is definately NOT ACCEPTABLE.
I see from other questions that have been posed that this is a continuing saga - when will you fix the issue? Lyn

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
- Clear the Cache and
- Remove Cookies
Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.
Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.
- Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
- Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.
If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
I never experienced any problems with Pay-pal and FF. (when I remember my password) I can leave all my security on. But as you said its not acceptable that they use a outside banking system for credit card-transaction. Try to start FF in safe-mode and see what happens.
