No response from navigation bar.
When I type a url in the navigation bar and press enter or the green button, Firefox 28 does not respond; however, using a link or a bookmark, it does.

Did you try a new window to see if the Go button works there?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
