i have tried resetting (as suggested here: http://mzl.la/MDh9tE), but to no avail; I end up having to manually edit EACH WINDOW every time the changes disappear. Is there a way to save the toolbar changes as default/something i can just select whenever it disappears? Also, is there a way to apply changes to the toolbar on one window to all other windows? It'll, of course, be best if the toolbar changes would stop disappearing..

A general rule is NEVER restore sessions. IT sounds good and saves time BUT often is the result of a FF or plugin problem, etc and is BEST to 1) disable network connection, clear ALL history and CLOSE FF. Then Enable your network connection and restart FF and rework your way to the locations you want. 2) My 8 years with FF has been restore-events FREE when i avoided restore sessions. good luck.

so is there no other solutions to this problem?

also, "Is there a way to save the toolbar changes as default/something i can just select whenever it disappears? Also, is there a way to apply changes to the toolbar on one window to all other windows?"

thanks in advance!(:

It sounds that Net2868 means using System Restore in Windows to revert to a previous date and not Session Restore in Firefox.

If you use History > Restore Previous Session then the toolbars shouldn't change.

Does this happen with the default theme and with all extensions disabled?

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
