When does Firefox start sync?
I would like to know when FF initiates sync. After initial start, at shutdown, sometime in between.
I am using Noscript, and have it set in about:config to propagate its settings via sync. Yet repeatedly, upon going to another machine, I find that my whitelists, and blacklists have not transferred. Except that it appears that some have and some havn't. I cannot see a pattern.
Also, there is (in the Linux version of FF) under the tools menu the "Sync Now" option. Is this working? There is no visual feedback. I have repeatedly used that in order to force an update of Noscript settings, yet given my issue listed above, I cannot tell if the menu option works.
(Firefox 25.0 on Linux Mint)

Sad news, this is still a problem with Noscript, since year 2011. Here is a thread from that forum: http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6056&start=60
Best solution is still to turn off sync Noscript

I found this NoScript support forum thread that concludes that NoScript doesn't work too well with Sync.
"That said, syncing NoScript preferences is generally not recommended, because they don't usually merge well." comment by Thrawn on Sep 01, 2013
The first page of that support thread is from 2009 when NoScript first instituted their own "bookmark" folder and bookmark as a crude method of "synchronizing" NoScript prefs using Sync, which required the user to do the "heavy lifting" to get those prefs into NoScript on a sync'd device. I did that a few times in 2009 and 2010 when I created a new Profile for Firefox.
Sorry, I have never used the noscript.sync.enabled pref so I can't help you with that.
My advice is to post in the NoScript support forum - http://forums.informaction.com/viewforum.php?f=3 - and start a new thread specifically for Sync and NoScript.

I'd still like an answer to the first part of the question: I would like to know when FF initiates sync. After initial start, at shutdown, sometime in between.
Just to confirm that propagations are taking place -- and that I do not have to initiate anything.
