A few weeks ago my firefox all of the sudden started to predict URLs I was typing in but instead of giving me url options it gives me "search" options. When I used to type in "face" in the loaction bar "facebook.com" was the first result, I would click it and it would take me directly to facebook.com. Now when I type in "face" it gives me a list of bolded options like "facebook" "facebook login" "facbook.com" with a magnifying glass beside them. If I click them they take me to "bing.com" and a list of search results. I just want to go back to the old way I could just click the arrow button down and go directly to facebook. With other sites I cant remember the whole URL its all just search results i can't even scroll to find the URL I want at the bottom. It's just an unnecessary extra step. How do I go back to just URLs being predicted in the location bar not stupid search results?

It sounds that you aren't using the location bar, but are using the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar with Bing selected as the currently selected search engine.
So you need to restore the location bar.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible.

  • Firefox menu button > Options
  • View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
  • Right-click empty toolbar area

Use Toolbar Layout (Customize) to open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

  • check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
