How do I find Firefox profile if it has been deleted from a Mac?
I was having problems with Firefox so deleted it from my Mac. I have tried to download the latest edition as I need it to run a java applet that won't work with Safari or Google chrome. When I try to run the program after downloading it tells me" Firefox profile missing or inaccessible. " I need this to work so I can do company tax returns. Any help gratefully received!! Jeannette

Note that you need to access the Library folder in your user account (/Users) and not the Library folder in the root (/Library).
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the $HOME/Library folder is a hidden folder.
Open Finder and use one of these:
- Go > Go To Folder (Shift-Command-G) and in the dialog type: ~/Library
- Open the "Go" menu and hold down the Option key to make the Library appear
- http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90947.html Access hidden user library files
Try to use the Profile Manager to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

It sounds that you may have deleted the Firefox profile folder, but forgot to delete the profiles.ini file as well.
So you need to delete the profiles.ini file as well.
- /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
Hi cor-el. I tried to do what you suggested but it was very difficult to figure out. I eventually found the Library on my Mac but there is no folder relating to Mozilla or Firefox there. so I am back to square one. I have no access to Firefox at all so there is no use suggesting going onto firefox and searching or requesting anything that way. This is all very frustrating. Thanks anyway. J
