Hello,

I am running firefox version 23 on my iMac, which uses OS X version 10.8.4. I get a prompt everyday, sometimes twice a day, asking me to update firefox. I take online classes through my college and it is required to use firefox as the browser. This is completely annoying. I need something more stable. Please help!

Thank you, Christine A

Are you suing Firefox 23.0 or 23.0.1?

You can find the full version of the latest Firefox 23 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Yes, version 23.0.1

What do you mean, full version? I initially received firefox and continue with all updates here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/

Please advise, Christine

Firefox 23.0.1 is the current release and you shouldn't get an updated request with this version installed.

Can you attach a screenshot of this update request?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Try to do a clean install of the the current Firefox release and download the full version and trash the currently installed version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop

  • Trash the current Firefox application (open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re-)install
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded

Make sure that you install Firefox properly.

Your personal data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data when you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.
