Why do i keep getting download boxes for upgrading browser that don't work - i installed but i get crap and the boxes won't go away

I keep getting boxes that block my working on screen that says my firefox is not up to date and i need to install an upgrade - i have done it twice and keep getting crap i don't want like PC Fix and Weatherbug but the boxes don't go away - i even tried dowloading straight from your site thinking that would give me the latest and i would be good to go - the boxes won't go away so i can work - this is very irritating - i need a solution to this problem

You may be seeing scam messages trying to seduce you to install malware.

You can check in Help > About if you have the latest Firefox 23.0.1 version.

You can find the full version of the latest Firefox 23 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Note that some security software can block the stub version of the Firefox installer, preventing you from updating.


Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
