Never had to edit settings for noquint addon using Firefox 3, but I do when using Firefox 13. Why is this, and can I fix it?

Hi. I use a 32" Sony Bravia for my PC monitor and when I was running Firefox 3.6 with the nosquint addon I never had a problem with font size or screen resolution. Now that I'm using nosquint with Firefox 13 I find that I have to edit the full zoom levels and text zoom levels for almost every site I visit. How come it was perfect with Firefox 3 and now it isn't, and can I make it the way it was?

You can rename the content-prefs.sqlite file to content-prefs.sqlite.old (or delete the file) in the Profile Folder to reset the page zoom on all sites.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

You can also try to reset the extensions.nosquint prefs on the about:config page.

  • Open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for extensions.nosquint via the Search bar at the top of the about:config page.
  • Reset all extensions.nosquint related prefs that appear bold (user set) via the right-click context menu to their default values.

Did what you suggested and it didn't help. It just reset everything to the way it was when I initially installed Firefox 13. The font size is much smaller than it was when using 3.6.

You can use this extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages or zoom to fit.

Thanks but that isn't really what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a solution that will permanently solve the issue without having to manually set zoom levels for every web page I visit. That is the way nosquint worked with Firefox 3, I just installed the add-on and it was an instant fix for every single web page. Why is it working differently with Firefox 13? Is there something you can change in the Firefox options maybe?

I did install that add-on and I was checking it out against nosquint. To me it seemed like nosquint was the better one of the two if you want to manually set your own zoom levels.

Did you look at the global default settings for all sites in NoSquint in the NoSquint preferences?

Yeah I did that too. The text on some of the sites I go to is way too small and then on other sites it's not so bad, so I can't use the same settings for every site.
