Firefox Not Responding - Infinite Loop
Firefox frequently freezes-up and displays "(Not Responding)" in the title bar. I have seen hundreds of similar complaints, and various attempts at solutions, but there has been no consistent resolution.
I recently installed a utility named "WhatIsHang", and it detects these Firefox error states. The diagnosis is reported to be: "The program probably hangs because there is an infinite loop, very long loop, or recursive calls."
...and I have included part of a Hang Report below, which is followed by several Crash reports, and the most recent one is in the Crash ID Field below.

I seem to recall trialling that add-on (whatishang) at one time after someone mentioned it but I am not sure I found it of much interest.
I suggest you try firefox in safe mode and read the article firefox crashes Please then try to provide two or three very recent crash IDs as reported by Firefox when you are in safemode.
(Not all crash reports are fully processed and retained so recent ones submitted by firefox tend to be the most useful in troubleshooting attempts)
I also suggest you turn on the option to forward anonymous data to mozilla Firefox, that includes data re startup times and hangs, and helps firefox investigate such problems.
- use Firefox button -> Options -> | Advanced | -> general system defaults
