while on-line an attempt to have me download a firefox security prog. was attempted, is this legit?

Does FireFox offer a security download when it suspects a virus or trojans etc. are found? Is this legitimate or an attempt of a virus.

Sounds like Malware, not a legitimate Firefox message.
