I want to turn off the writtten info and voice box commentary that tells me everything I am doing. How do I do this? Latest version on Mac.
My neighbor downloaded the lasted version on my Mac. The computer talks to me and writes out my every move of the mouse. She would like this to stop!!!!!!!!!

You can change the speech settings in System Preferences > Speech > Speech Recognition. Turn the speakable items off. In System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing, turn off VoiceOver. What do you mean "writes every move of the mouse"? Check System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse and see if Mouse Keys is on. If so, turn if off.
