Gif files save as text files and cannot be opened using the preview application on Macbook Pro.

I downloaded the newest version of firefox lastweek and every gif I have saved since have turned into text files. You can't view what the gif looks like because it looks like a document. I tried to open it with the application Preview, but it won't work. Only if you click on the gif can you see what it looks like in preview. Basically I want to see what the image looks like in my image folder.

Rename the file(s) and give them the correct file extension for image file type (.gif or .jpg )

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
