Both my desktop and my Android keep showing sync keys not allowing me to enter the sync key from either device. How do I deal with this?

No matter what I do Sync displays aq set of sync keys on BOTH my devices, not allowing me to enter the sync key from the other device. I've killed my Sync account from my desktop but that didn't help. So, how do I start from scratch and get my Droid X synced with my desktop?

If both your desktop and your phone are showing you a 12-character "easy setup" code, that means that neither one of them is connected to a sync account right now. The first step is to connect your desktop to a sync account. If you have not created a sync account before, press the "Create a new account" button.

If you already have an account but don't have any device connected to it, press the "Connect" button and then click on "I don't have the device with me" at the bottom of the window. You'll be prompted for a email account, password, and sync key. If you don't remember your password, enter your email account and then click "reset password." If you don't have your sync key, enter your email account and password and then click "I have lost my other device."

Once you have connected your desktop to a sync account, click on "add a device" in the Sync options on your desktop, then enter the 12-character easy setup code provided by your phone.
