How do I change text color in link popup on mouseover?
When I mouse over a link in a blog post, a small toolbar pops up at the bottom of the screen which shows the url. I find this very useful. Since upgrading to Firefox 4.x the pop up appears with grey text on a grey background. the greys are very close in hue and value and so unreadable. Adjusting the text colors in preferences has no effect.

Does that only happen with that pop-up ?
You can change the appearance with code in userChrome.css. Play with the below listed CSS rules.
Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line.
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/userChrome.css
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Editing_configuration
- ChromEdit Plus: http://webdesigns.ms11.net/chromeditp.html
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ .statuspanel-label { background: #FFFF99 !important; color: black !important; font-family: "DejaVu Sans Mono" !important; font-size: larger !important; }
Sorry, but that did not solve the problem. The two links to mozillazine time out. Adding the css fragment -- always assuming I put the file in the right place /profile/chrome/ -- did not affect the url label on hover. If I create a new blank profile, it works as it should. So I suspect the quickest way for me to go is to reconstruct my profile. Thank you very much for your help. --ml
Use the Google cache in case of problems accessing the MozillaZine KB (prefix links with cache:):
