We have a Canon Pixma TR7021 and Thunderbird just updated to 115.7.0. Canon's IJ scan software has a feature where it can send messages to email, so we have it set up to go to Thunderbird. In the past, it opens the composer with a new message with the .pdf file as an attachment.

After the upgrade, we get a brief flash on the screen. The developer console shows the error below, but Thunderbird does not crash. Troubleshoot mode has the same issues. Replacing the Canon driver infrastructure did not fix. We are able to manually scan from that printer to a file and attach the file into a new message, so it is an issue with live importation of a .pdf document

Hello.

I tried this fix. Thunderbird's installer did not come up with an advanced install option, just silently completed. The Thunderbird install is the 32 bit version.

I've attached the errors as they were after the reinstall, trying to scan direct.

Choose Custom in the setup (see picture) to set TB as the default and don't run it at the end. Reboot the PC.

I did that. On launching the LJ scan tool, it brings up Thunderbird now, but does nothing else. I immediately launched the developer console and took a screenshot as shown below.

It does send PDFs to an arbitrary folder if I tell it to, so Canon's tool is generating legitimate pdfs.
