I have a client that sends a weekly newsletter using a list called news, it work for a long time. now he gets a error news <> is not a valid email address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the email.

It works on my setup, using my email, same version of TB, different domain name but the same server. I tried rename the list to a email address [email protected] it acts like it sends, but no one gets the email. reninstall TB on his rig, same outcome. haven't had any luck searching for an answer.

Thanks for the reply, I found that post earlier and nothing in it helped, I had also tried safe mode with no luck. there were mo addons and I had reset the defaults. I found it odd that it also would not auto complete when typing in any addresses or lists.

So I UN-installed Thunderbird, renamed the profile folder and reinstalled. Everything works as it should now.

Thanks for your time!

There's a long list of remedies: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1284138

Does the same thing happen in safe/troubleshoot mode (hold Shift when launching TB)?
