I’m having difficulty with Firefox on an iPad mini fifth generation running iOS 16.4.1 and today’s version of Firefox. I’ve used Firefox for years with Duck Duck Go as search engine with no problem. Today without warning Firefox stopped accepting URLs typed into the search bar from the Homepage (or any page). It simply ignores the typing and flickers momentarily, keeping the existing URL and page. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, changing the default search engine from Duck Duck Go to Firefox, and changing from a custom homepage to the Firefox homepage. No luck. Please advise.

I have this problem as well.

Device: iPad 6th generation, iPadOS 16.5 Firefox 113.1 (30885)

The problem: when the search bar gets focus, the display around the bar flickers, mostly to the left of the bar where the back/forward arrows and search engine logo are displayed. The search bar does not accept any keyboard command. Other input controls (e.g. login bar at firefox.com) respond as expected.

The problem only occurs when the iPad is connected to an external keyboard. I reproduced the problem with Apple Universal Control and a Zagg Flex keyboard. When disconnected from an external keyboard, the search bar behaves as expected.

Correction: problem is address bar and not search bar.
