Cannot access gmail on desktop but can on laptop/tablet
Haven't been able to access Gmail from Firefox on my desktop. It says"temporary error" It has been like this for 8 hours. I can access it using Microsoft edge browser on desktop and i can access gmail on my laptop with firefox. i deleted duck duck go from firefox on desktop. I cleared the cache and cleared the cookies but still problem. It says on gmail technical info: Numeric code 4. i have Firefox version 109.0. it works fine with everything else
the only other thing i can think of is to delete Firefox and reinstall it?

This could be a problem with the TLS 1.3 Early Data feature also known as Zero Round Trip Time Resumption (0rtt). You can try to set security.tls.enable_0rtt_data = false on the about:config page to disable this feature until this is fixed by Google or Mozilla to see if that helps.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:
You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
Still a problem I get to the about config page", type in the security.tis.enable_0rtt._data=false and it is the only preference to come up with that phrase. i click on it and it goes to true so i click again returns to false. the only other option is the trash can. Is there anything else I should do? I checked the preference list and it is listed but i still cannot access my gmail. fyi, i have now spent 2 1/2 hours on this instead of writing Jan Schindler [email removed from public] .

Hi, This still does not solve the problem. I've read the other comments and all seem to say that the "security.tls.enable_0rtt_data = false" has worked for them. When I type it in after accessing the "about:config" command, it shows up immediately in a list by itself. There is no list that is generated. I have been able to access the long list of commands and have tried to change it there but again, no change to my gmail. Is there anything else i can do? thanks, Jan
Note that you should only type the name (security.tis.enable_0rtt._data) of the pref in the search bar at the top of the about:config page.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.
