thunderbird crawls when checking large accounts
I have upgraded TB from pretty old version, and i haven't got any email performance issues. On current one when program says its checking inbox for new messages, it freezes until its done. It takes few seconds so its noticable especially when composing new email.
test conditions: large inbox (45k messages, 14,5GB on disk)
An old version (2-3 years old, without left vertical shortcuts panel - i can check by installing one of old ones) handled mails quite efficiently when checking inbox, but current crawls and locks program.
This might be related with opened attachments in tabs - above 6-8 begins to lock up or don't load attachment content.

You upgraded to what version? Do you have mail filters? What types of attachments are opened in tabs?
Current one 102.1.2 but i tested other >100. Didn't tested beta. Attachments are usually pdfs with invoices (1 up to 3 pages usually). I don't have filters enabled (one of reason having 45k in inbox:)))
Do you still see this issue when using version 102.2.0? If necessary, with Thunderbird started in troubleshooting mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-mode-thunderbird ?
in troubleshoot mode when TB is checking my main account still got freezes (but less intensive and i think shorter - looks like stutter instead of complete freeze for few secs). There is a difference but it seems checking emails on imap blocks main process of TB (or maybe it is a single process?). Current version 102.2.1 and still got same behaviour.
