Hi,

There is a feature that I deeply miss on Thunderbird.

It's already possible to set an option to mark messages as read (or not), in the global options of Thunderbird: https://i.imgur.com/mRsQGb5.png

Because it's global, this option will apply to all the emails accounts set up in Thunderbird.

I would like to be able to set up this option on and account basis, in order to choose which account will have this option activated and which one disactivated.

Other email clients, even mobile, can have this option, such as FairEmail: https://i.imgur.com/V0aO3r0.png

Is there a trick, even in Config Editor to change this parameter for a specific account? If not, would you please consider to add this feature to Thunderbird?

Thanks for your consideration.

If the global option 'Automatically mark messages is read' is unchecked, you could create a filter for those accounts for which you wish to have the option applied, as in the attached picture. Filters are defined for each account, and run automatically on the Inbox or manually on any folder.
