There seems to be an issue with the current version of Thunderbird (91.1.2), as you are unable to create an in-line hyperlink when composing a message. I’m aware that when they moved to this version they changed how the links were handled, and that now they are put in attachments. I don’t quite understand why they think this is a better option, but that’s another question. The problem is that when you drag and drop the link from Firefox into Thunderbird, and it gets added as an attachment, you can’t open the link when you receive it at the other end. If you double click on the link in attachments, and use Firefox as your default application to open it, it tries to open it as a .htm file, and not just as the web address that you attached. There’s lots of reasons why a person might want to have an in-line hyperlink in a message they were composing, but as things are currently constructed, it doesn’t appear that you can send someone a link to a website in any fashion. Not sure if this is an issue that exist solely within Thunderbird, or if there’s an issue with Firefox at the other end, but the end result is an inability to send and open a link to a webpage. I am currently using the latest version of Firefox, which is 92.1. How do you bring this to the attention of the engineers who construct Thunderbird, so that they can address this issue? It’s really frustrating not being able to send any links, let alone in my preferred way, using an in-line hyperlink, which we’ve been able to do for years. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
