I have no idea what I've done this morning. All the read and unread emails in my inbox have disappeared. I thought I'd accidentally sent them to trash so I restored trash to inbox but that was not the fix. I used the 'repair folder' and saw it was counting thousands of emails but once finished it reverted to just the most recent 20 or so plus the restored trash. Please give me other options to recover my emails

I began having this same issue on March 19. I noticed my inbox and sent folders did not have anything in them, However subset of the inbox did. I logged into my server webmail and emails were there. I have contacted isp and they say its a know ttbird issue, could not help me. I hired a tech guy who could not solve.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled

I have deleted profiles.
I did change one thing in the config editor mail.imap.expunge_after_delete to TRUE

I deleted all trash on my webmail. this got me the send box mail back. but still no inbox messages I can send mail

Here is exact message pop up

CUrrent operation on inbox did not succeed. Mail server at [email protected] responded EXPUNGE failed

AT this point I dont even know what expunge is. any help appreciated. I feel like i am left to myself to fix.

a tbird user for some 20 years now.
