Password not managed by Thunderbird 78.4.1

Hello, Thunderbird has been updates automatically from v68.12.1 to v78.4.1 on my computer. Now the password is requested every time I launch Thunderbird. No password are registered in Option->Vie privée->Mots de passe enregistrés. The check box allowing to store the password to the password manager is not any more shown. Can you help me ?

Open Options/General/Config. editor and look at the value of signon.rememberSignons. If the value is false, double-click it to true, restart TB.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. That's OK, the check box is visible and i can manage my password through the password manager. May i suggest to turn this option to true by default value; i would help many people.

Glad it's now working. The preference is true by default, as that is the value when the preference is not in bold text in Config. editor. But sometimes preferences get accidentally switched.

I tried this solution. I verified that signon.rememberSignons is set to TRUE. Password Manager still does not remember passwords, even when option to remember password is checked in the popup.

Check that you don't have a password manager provided by some security programs, that is interfering with TB. If not, Help/Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Folder, close TB, delete or rename cert9.db, key4.db and logins.json. This will remove all account passwords. Then restart TB and enter the passwords when prompted, check the relevant box, and see if they are remembered.
