I could not get my ATT password to work in Thunderbird. I had to log into my ATT Profile and create a specific Thunderbird password.

I've been a Thunderbird user since its inception. This issue is new and it isn't being disseminated on the web. I could not get my ATT user name and password to work in Thunderbird on 2 of my ATT accounts. In order to fix this issue I had to log into my ATT profile for each account and create a Thunderbird specific password.

New users are probably giving up on Thunderbird because of this.

Secure mail keys have been recommended here for several months, but yes, it does seem AT&T is lacking when it comes to informing their users. I suspect only a minority access their accounts through email apps like TB, most using webmail.
