Thunderbird has stopped printing
I cannot print messages from Thunderbird, either to an actual printer or a print-to-PDF utility (PrimoPDF, CutePDFWriter). This is a sudden problem, starting one day ago. I have restarted the computer. Any ideas for fixing this problem? Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 7000 series.

What's your version of TB? If it's 75b1, there is a known bug. If it's 68, first thing to try is open Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor, right-click the preference print_printer, Reset, then restart TB.

Can you print to the built-in Microsoft Print to PDF?

Can you print to the built-in Microsoft Print to PDF?
I have Version 75b1. I cannot print using Microsoft Print to PDF, either.
Is there a way to rollback to an earlier version?
The only workaround I've found is to screenshot and then print (as it is no longer a TB message).
Any fix in site? Thank you.

You can install an earlier version, but unless you create a new profile, you may have to start TB from the command line with these parameters, i.e.
thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade
Given the significant differences between 75 and 68, I recommend you create a new profile with 68.
Thank you.
I am not a tech person at all. How do I go about making a new profile for vresion 68 with all of my present folders and accounts intact? Do I do that before or after I would download 68?
If you install TB 68, on first run you will probably see an error like the attached picture, with the option to create a new profile. If you click Exit, and then run TB from the command line, Windowskey+R, then type
thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade
select your old profile and see if it opens properly. If you create a new profile, set up your accounts, and then transfer address books, calendars and local mail from the old profile to the new one. Since this takes a bit of experience, the easiest option is to try the --allow-downgrade method.

I cannot see an attached picture.
Where do I find the installer file for TB68?
Thank you.
Picture now attached to previous post.
The installer is asking to install TB68 in the same folder "Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Thunderbird" as 75b1. How can I change that? I don't want 68 to overwrite 75b1.
Your data is stored in a separate location, the profile folder, so installing 68 over 75 is okay, although I would have uninstalled 75 first. If you want to keep the 75 program, install 68 to a different folder, e.g. Program Files (x86)/Thunderbird68.
I would not recommend using betas unless you are comfortable with managing multiple versions and profiles .
Yes, I knew that about the profiles, but thank you for the reminder. I think I was using betas back in the day when the underlying issues were not so complex!
I am going to give it a try. Thank you for your patience and assistance!
