hey guys,

I have another problem with this browser. here is a great example of the problem => go here to my website: http://www.adamevanovich.com (see attached image)

there you can see a pop up dialog that asks for a password. if I enter the right one the first time, it accepts it and saves it in the browser saved passwords. however, if I go into my hosting company's dashboard, change that password, then go back to that page and enter the new password, I get a pop up asking me if I want to update??? I press "yes" or "update password", but alas, the next time i go that freakin page and have to enter a password, the old login credentials are automatically populated!! can you guys help with this too?

Note that you can edit the password in the Password Manager (Lockwise) by selecting this entry (use the search bar if necessary) and click the edit button next to the password. If you notice multiple entries then you can remove unneeded login entries.

Hello Adam,

Would you first please take a look at this article and see if maybe something there will help ?

I've asked a fellow contributor to come to your rescue .....

As your system details show that you are (still) running Firefox version 71, he probably knows what's going on here.

Hi Adam, There were some instances when the Lockwise password manager would create a duplicate login instead of updating one.

Could you check whether or not this has happened ?

If it did, you can easily delete the old login and you shouldn't have any more issues with that login.

hey guys, I will look at this later today or tomorrow and get back to you on. it's not a big deal as of now, so I'm not too worried about it. but none-the-less it needs to get fixed. thanks!

thanks. this problem is happening on back end URLs for wordpress websites. the back end login page. do you know about that by chance?

The screenshot shows the dialog for basic authentication (i.e. authenticating to a server). This kind of authentication is different than storing a session ID in a cookie like most websites use.

then that might be the problem. I'm guessing there's no way around that then. which is fine with me. I store all my PWs in a secure file on my local machine anyway. so I won't lose any hair over it.
